Installation instructions
Read every step and watch the video before you start. Work slowly, one section at a time, and Clear View goes on straight and smooth the first time.
What's in the box
- Clear View cover, two panels (top and bottom)
- Heavy duty Velcro strips, pre-attached to the panels
- Printed installation instructions
- Drawstring storage bag
Before you start
- Pick a clean, dry day above 50°F.
- Shipping can leave wrinkles in the panels. Lay them flat in the sun for about 20 minutes and they relax.
- You'll need rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. No tools, no drilling.
The six steps
Clean the frame
Clean the door frame thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and let it dry.
Lay the panels flat
Lay the two Clear View panels on a clean, flat surface and smooth out any wrinkles in the edge binding for a better fit.
Start with the top panel
Remove the Velcro strip with the backing tape from the Clear View panel. This is the part that attaches to the door frame.
Peel and press, a little at a time
Peel off the backing tape a little at a time, then align and press the Velcro firmly onto the outer flat edges of the door frame.
Work section by section
Continue section by section until the Velcro is completely attached to the frame.
Attach the panels
Press the top Clear View panel onto the Velcro, then repeat steps 3 to 6 for the bottom panel.
Important: do not remove all the backing tape at once, and do not try to install Clear View directly onto the door. Working section by section, piece by piece, keeps the installation straight, smooth, and wrinkle-free.
After installation
- Some wrinkling along the edges after shipping is normal and does not affect how Clear View works. It smooths out on its own over the next several days.
- Your doors work as they always have. Take the top or bottom panel off separately whenever you want to.
- Off season, fold the panels into the storage bag.
